Port of Tacoma container volumes reverse course in July

The Port of Tacoma’s seesaw container numbers were up again in July after two consecutive months of decline.

New figures from the port show container numbers measured in 20-foot-equivalent units or TEUs exceed last July’s by 3.9 percent. July’s result follow disappointing May and June results when container numbers fell by 1 percent and 11.1 percent respectively. Before May, dosage the port’s container volumes had bettered the previous year’s for seven consecutive months.
