Port Orchard-Bremerton ferry running Sunday, Memorial Day

by Tim Flanagan on May 26, 2011

This unsigned story appears in the Kitsap Sun:

PORT ORCHARD — The passenger-only ferry Admiral Pete will be running between Bremerton and Port Orchard on Sunday and Monday.

Kitsap Transit suspended Sunday and holiday service in 2009 because of budget constraints, information pills but the Port of Bremerton and cities of Bremerton and Port Orchard contracted with Kitsap Harbor Tours to run it Sunday and Monday on Memorial Day, approved the Fourth of July and Labor Day and the first Sunday in August for The Cruz car show. They’re also trying to work out service for the other summer Sundays.

The ferry will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, enabling people to travel between Kitsap Harbor Festival events on the Bremerton and Port Orchard waterfronts. The fare is $2 each way.
