Thanks to my friend Wayne for the tip. Here’s the only news coverage I can find so far, by Chris Sulivan at KIRO radio:

A sinkhole opened up along the Seattle waterfront on Thursday morning trapping a man.

Fire Department spokeswoman Dana Vander Houwen says the concrete gave way beneath the man about 8 a.m. on Alaska Way near S. Washington St.

The 60-year-old was rescued from the hole just before 9 a.m. Firefighters have to shore up the hole before they strapped him to a rescue board and pulled him out.
